I have been both of these people. Sometimes you have an enormous load of change that just needs to be used, and sorry, but some one has to count it out. Also I have been there on the other side of the counter, filled with simultaneous dread and resignation when a customer pulls out a sandwich bag full of pennies and nickels to pay for their purchase.
